My wife and I were invited to a Mexican rodeo event very near our home, and it was a fun and fascinating day of authentic Mexican culture, food, music and sport. I hope you enjoy these, my favorite images from the day!

Yeah, I enjoyed this a lot – thanks as always for catching the texture of things, Ed, and compiling and sharing.

Hey thanks so much, Daniel! It was a really special experience, to be immersed in a culture I know next to nothing about for a day. Everyone was incredibly friendly toward us though, and we never felt the least bit like we didn’t belong, despite the fact there were only abut a half dozen gringos in the place!

Hello Ed Thank you for sharing other peoples culture. I would like to invite you to visit my cultural website, in it you will find a wealth of information about the formal aspects and traditions of official Charreria in the United States. My website will have a fresh new look in the next couple of weeks, but most of the content (and a lot more) will be available. You’ll find us on facebook as well, where you will find many entertaining and sometimes inspiring pictures. Best regards, Toby D.

Very nice! I enjoy seeing what you chose to pull out from what was probably a huge number of photos. The faces are really sweet, and I like the framing on the ones where we only see a partial view. Then, of course, the soft tacos looked delicious!
